Oh, What can we say - Who have said all, yet not enough! — Marion Stroebel
In these times of texts and tweets, the sound of the human voice can be a powerful instrument. Yes, we know that the voices of some can fuel fear, anger, and hate. But your voice can heal, offer hope, and share faith in our ability to overcome personal and societal challenges and hardships.
There is no sound quite like the human voice. The range of its frequencies and tones is unique. No other sound in nature can match it for sheer versatility. Think of the times since birth that you’ve been soothed, lulled to sleep, inspired, challenged, acknowledged, and comforted by a human voice. Remember calling a loved one and saying, “I just wanted to hear your voice.”? The tone and tempo of a voice can let us know that someone is listening, that we are being heard. So, if you know someone who needs to be comforted today—or simply needs the companionship of a human voice, visit them, call them. For god’s sake don’t tweet or text them—and forget those ugly, hollow emoticons. Share yourself by giving the gift of your voice.
