Norma Bishop is an author of fiction, poetry, and nonfiction. She has also had careers as an attorney and museum executive—while continuing to write.
 
A feature contributor to the Santa Barbara News-Press and Manitowoc Herald Times Reporter, she has also served as a feature contributing editor, under the pen name Jean Sinclair, for Coastal Woman Magazine, a Santa Barbara publication.
 
In 2009, she attended the University of Michigan Bear River Writers Conference on submission scholarship.
